2017 Student Internship Program

The District Office of Assemblymember Matt Dababneh is looking for energetic and self-motivated college students and college bound high school students to learn about the inner workings of a State Assembly office. The internship program exposes students to district office operations and how it serves the constituents of Assembly District 45, which includes the communities of Bell Canyon, Calabasas, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Hidden Hills, Northridge, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with community outreach efforts
  • Prepare reports and research specific issues
  • Compile daily news clips
  • Respond to constituent inquiries
  • General office duties, including answering telephones

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in public policy and local issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Research experience
  • Basic understanding of office procedures
