AB 241 – Requires public agencies to offer identity theft prevention or mitigation services at no cost to affected persons for no less than 12 months, if there is a breach of personal information including Social Security Numbers or driver's license numbers. AB 380 – Allows consumers to sign contracts with an electronic signature when purchasing or leasing a vehicle. (Status: Senate Judiciary Committee)

AB 485 – The Pet Rescue and Adoption Act- Bans the sale of specified animals from puppy mills throughout California. (Status: Enrolled to Governor)

AB 588 – Makes technical and clarifying changes to the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program. (Status: Assembly Banking and Finance Committee)

AB 611 – Increases protections for elders and dependent adults by providing financial institutions additional tools to prevent financial abuse before it occurs.

AB 717 – Requires a home inspector to be a licensee of the Contractors’ State License Board pursuant to the Contractors’ State License Law. (Status: Assembly Business and Professions Committee)

AB 784 – Makes the existing Pilot Program for Increased Access to Responsible Small Dollar Loans permanent. (Status: Assembly Appropriations Committee)

AB 858 – Creates the California Financial Literacy Initiative – a new clearinghouse of high-quality financial education materials for students, teachers, and parents.

AB 908 – Improves access to health care for the San Fernando Valley by extending the seismic safety deadline for Providence Tarzana Medical Center to construct a new patient wing. (Status: Enrolled to Governor)

AB 1026Permits a for-profit skilled nursing facility (SNF) when at least 60% of its patients are Medi-Cal beneficiaries to access funding under the California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) Act and insurance under the California Health Facility Construction Loan Insurance Program (Loan Insurance Program) administered by the Cal-Mortgage Loan Insurance Division (Cal-Mortgage). AB 1123 – Establishes the Virtual Currency Act within the Department of Business Oversight.   (Status: Assembly Banking and Finance Committee)

AB 1194 – Increases transparency for voters regarding the effects that local bond measures may have on their residential property taxes by providing accessible information so voters can easily calculate the implications. (Status: Enrolled to Governor)

AB 1255 – Authorizes the DMV to develop a digital mobile driver’s license application for smartphone use and test the application through a pilot program.

AB 1284 – Creates a regulatory framework and establishes underwriting guidelines under the Department of Business Oversight for Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) administrators. (Status: Enrolled to Governor)

AB 1333 – Requires local government agencies that have an internet website to prominently post on that site a notice of any upcoming election in which the voters will vote on a tax measure or proposed bond issuance of the agency, within seven days of the measure being placed on the ballot. (Status: Assembly Appropriations Committee)

AB 1375 – Requires certain placement settings that provide care to foster youth, non-minor dependents, and wards to provide the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) with a daily census of available beds and a comprehensive listing of the services provided, as well as requires CDSS to create and maintain a database on the department’s Internet Web site that would allow county child welfare departments and county probation departments to view the list in order to place foster children and wards in settings that are in the best interest of the child. AB 1421 – Requires the Department of Public Health to conduct a study to determine the noise and vibration levels produced by railroad lines in the vicinity of residential areas and schools. (Status: Senate Rule Committee)

AB 1460 – Allows licensed brokers, as specified, to hold fiduciary funds within any state, as specified. (Status: Chaptered by Secretary of State - Chapter 69, Statutes of 2017)

AB 1510 – Protects our student athletes by ensuring athletic trainers are licensed and regulated in California. (Status: Assembly Business and Professions)

AB 1542 – Jordan’s Law- Allows the court to consider the recording of a commission of a violent felony as a factor in aggravation for sentencing purposes. This measure responds to the growing epidemic of social media motivated attacks planned for the purpose of filming and posting online to achieve notoriety. (Status: Enrolled to Governor)

AB 1620 – Increases accountability of legislators who look to resign early from office by further limiting their ability to influence legislative actions after their departure. (Status:  Enrolled to Governor)

AB 1632 – Requires a write-in candidate for a voter-nominated office who advances to the general election to pay the prescribed filing fee in order to appear on the general election ballot. (Status: Assembly Committee on Elections and Redistricting)

ACR 53 – Financial Fitness Month: Declares the month of April 2017 as Financial Fitness Month, with the theme of “Financial Fitness for Life,” to raise public awareness about the continuing need for increased financial literacy. (Status: Chaptered)

ACR 127 – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Proclaims the month of September 2017 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and states the commitment of the Legislature to support efforts to find cures for, and achieve prevention of, childhood cancer. (Status: Chaptered)

AJR 26 – Preserving the Mortgage Interest Reduction: Urges the Congress of the United States that the current federal income tax deductions for interest paid on debt secured by a first or 2nd home and for property taxes should not be further restricted. (Status: Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee)
