CHP Alerts

California’s alerts program focuses on bringing people home safely by quickly sharing important information when someone goes missing. It’s a partnership between law enforcement, community members, and the media to get timely updates out to the public.

There are seven types of alerts recognized in California:

  • AMBER Alert - Missing children
  • Blue Alert - Threats to law enforcement
  • Silver Alert - Missing seniors
  • Feather Alert - Missing Indigenous people
  • Ebony Alert - Missing Black youth and young women
  • Yellow Alert - Hit-and-run incidents
  • Endangered Missing Advisory - Other at-risk missing persons

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) provides up-to-date information on all active alerts so communities can stay informed and help support a safe recovery.
