California’s alerts program focuses on bringing people home safely by quickly sharing important information when someone goes missing. It’s a partnership between law enforcement, community members, and the media to get timely updates out to the public.
There are seven types of alerts recognized in California:
- AMBER Alert - Missing children
- Blue Alert - Threats to law enforcement
- Silver Alert - Missing seniors
- Feather Alert - Missing Indigenous people
- Ebony Alert - Missing Black youth and young women
- Yellow Alert - Hit-and-run incidents
- Endangered Missing Advisory - Other at-risk missing persons
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) provides up-to-date information on all active alerts so communities can stay informed and help support a safe recovery.
