RESOURCES FOR KIDS

The San Bernardino County Library has a variety of easily-accessible educational services. Sign up for a digital library card here. The library has also added a platform for children at home to have access to a live tutoring system every day from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., accessible for library card holders. San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) has provided a list of fun educational activities, including educational games.

The Assembly Democratic Caucus has also prepared a regularly updated website with activities for kids and families sheltering at home, including coloring sheets and activity sheets.

RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES

Adjusting to distance learning may be challenging for students, parents, and educators alike. Common Sense Education has prepared resources to assist with your child’s learning, including a resource page for families managing distance learning and a free distance learning plan for K-2 students. The California Department of Education encourages parents to reach out to their school or district office to have a conversation about the impact of the pandemic on their student’s education and collaborative ways to support students during this time. Information on parent organizations can be accessed on the CDE website.

On April 9, the CDE issued a set of Special Education FAQs related to the school closures. The CDE is also holding weekly webinars on special education. The next will be on Special Education Transition, on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at 3:00 .pm. View through the CDE Facebook page or register here.

SAN BERNARDINO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Distance Learning

Consistent with all other school superintendents in San Bernardino County, the SBCUSD school board approved a decision to keep all school campuses closed, and to move forward with distance learning to ensure continuity of instruction for SBCUSD students. Meal Services

SBCUSD will continue providing free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and under on Mondays and Wednesdays. Starting Monday, April 6, breakfast and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the following locations. Please note, meals will only be served on Monday and Wednesday. A parent or guardian must accompany the student to these locations.

REDLANDS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Redlands Unified School District has begun distance learning. Included below is information on the distance learning plan and meal service availability.

Distance Learning

The District began distance learning on April 13. Distance learning will continue for the remainder of the school year. During this time, all Redlands Unified School District campuses and facilities will remain closed to the public.

Redlands Unified has prepared this designated website with information regarding the district’s distance learning program, including week by week Learning Guides to support remote learning for students.

Meal Services

Starting April 14, Redlands Unified School District is providing free grab and go meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9a.m. to 11 a.m. for all kids 18 and under at the locations listed below. Children must be present to receive the meals. On Tuesdays, 2 days of meals (2 breakfasts and 2 lunches) will be provided, and on Thursdays, 3 days of meals (3 breakfasts and 3 lunches) will be provided.
