SAN BERNARDINO—Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) today announced that he is postponing or rescheduling district events and an informational hearing planned for Wednesday, March 18. He stated:
With great disappointment I cancelled the celebration of or district’s Women of Distinction celebratory event on Saturday. I am also rescheduling an important informational hearing that I had called as chair of the Select Committee on Native American Affairs. The hearing was set for March 18 and would have examined state law enforcement on tribal lands. It is a critical, complex issue that deserves to be heard when it can be given our full attention. Right now, serious health concerns must take priority for the public good.
It is imperative that elected officials and others lead by example and follow guidelines established by health officials in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. Let us act responsibly and be respectful of the needs of all in our community.
I urge all to remain calm and follow guidelines from the California Department of Health and the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
