SACRAMENTO—Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-San Bernardino) today announced he has named Jacob Rivera as his new legislative director.
“Jacob has been a great asset to my team,” Ramos said. “He is from the Inland Empire and knows our region’s communities, their strengths and challenges first-hand. He has already staffed important district bills including establishing a means to more effectively use Patton State Hospital and creation of temporary housing for our homeless and more. Jacob has hit the ground running as we start the new legislative session and new challenges California and the district will face in the coming year.”
Rivera has worked with Ramos since 2021 when he was hired as a field representative. In 2022, he was named as a legislative assistant and then as a senior legislative assistant in 2023. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/American Politics.
Rivera succeeds Michael Chen as legislative director. Chen served as legislative director from 2022 to 2024. Adriana Ruelas continues as Ramos’s chief of staff, Gisela Salazar as scheduler and Maria Lopez as communications director.
