Ramos State Audit Request of Homeless Youth Data Clears Key Committee

(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) – Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) is proud to select Rancho Cucamonga Councilmember Kristine Scott as “Woman of the Year” for the 40th Assembly district. Assemblymember Ramos will honor Councilmember Scott on the Assembly floor as part of the California’s Legislative Women’s Caucus yearly event, as part of Women’s History Month.

Ramos Appointed to Select Committee on Native American Affairs

(Sacramento, CA) – As the first California Native American elected to the State Legislature, Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) has been appointed Chair of the Select Committee on Native American Affairs by Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood). Assemblymember Ramos’s appointment marks the formation of this committee.

Ramos Co-Authors Quirk-Silva Legislation to Create Regional Approach to Address Homelessness

(Sacramento, CA)Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) has co-authored a bill to create a Flexible Housing Program (FHP) that will provide regional funding to address homelessness. The FHP will pool funding resources into a single program that regional homelessness agencies can access for a variety of housing options such as rental assistance, operating subsidies for housing developments, re-housing, case management and wrap around services.

Milestone reached as the first California Native American elected to the State Legislature

Ramos (D-Highland) held his in-district swearing-in ceremony on February 9 at California State San Bernardino. The swearing-in was conducted by Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood).

Ramos Announces $9.3 Million Homeless Aid Grant

(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) -- Assemblymember James C. Ramos (D-Highland) is pleased to announce that the San Bernardino City & County Continuum of Care has received a $9.3 million Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) grant from the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency Homeless Coordinating and Financing Council.

Ramos Seeks Community Input on Bills

(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) -- Assemblymember James Ramos (D-Highland) is seeking community input and fresh ideas from the 40th Assembly District that could be addressed with state legislation.

The new feature on his website titled “There Ought to be a Law” provides a form with input for residents to submit proposals for new laws. The deadline to submit is February 8, 2019
